Community Investment- Part of our core business
Each year Kusten Vorland contribute to the local communities in which we operate, both through our own community investment activities and through local community sponsorships, charitable donations, employee volunteering and the provision of in-kind donations.
Core business practices
Operating in a highly regulated and high risk industry, Kusten Vorland via strict leglaslitive adherement activities ensures our environmental impact and that of our customers is controlled and monitored. We have a waste carrier licence and ensure all of our hazodous waste and contaminated materials are disposed of in accordance with HSE UK guidelines. We also operate a strict recycling policy.
This quarter our team have contributed over 50 volunteering hours. Our focus is on promoting equality of opportunity for all staff irrespective of gender, race, age, disability, sexual orientation and faith creates business benefits. Our partner organisation is Race Equality First . In real demonstration we are volunteering at Barry Island primary school on a project aimed at births, marriages and deaths of different countries. Our school has selected Greek and Spanish traditional weddings, we have provided an artist to work with the children creating craft projects on this theme.
Our team take giving and sharing seriously. We know surplus goods can end up in landfill, on market stalls or simply piled up in our storage area, but by donating gifts in kind, whether its old furniture, clothing, pallets of childrens toys or mobile phones, is a great and easy way for the Kusten Vorland team to offer support. Our team are registered for Gift Aid to maximise donations and this quarter have donated over £350 of recyclable materials. Our partner charity is PDSA because we understand not all animals are as loved as our corporate dog "Megs".
