Remember the Snowdogs?
We've got Roodle! He’s KV’s newest and cutest recruit.
We recruited – bid and bought – Roodle at the Tŷ Hafan fundraising auction to support children with life-limiting conditions and their families across Wales. We are delighted to help this local charity.
You may have heard of Tails in Wales. You may have seen the snowdogs in and around the city’s streets, alongside iconic buildings, and across the Vale as part of an amazing public art trail.
They captured the imagination of everyone here at Kusten Vorland. We’ve all been hunting them down with our families on weekends and sharing photos. Standing at 1.5m tall, he wasn’t easy to get back to KVHQ. But we managed it somehow and Roodle is now part of the furniture.
His role at Kusten Vorland will include security, customer care and looking cute. Our very own snowdog reminds us of Snowy in Tintin.
Protected from the wintry chill by his super fluffy fur, up close our Roodle also bears an eerie resemblance to chrysotile. This is the fibrous form of the mineral serpentine, which accounts for 95 per cent of all asbestos in commercial use. This is what we usually deal with. Happily, we won’t need a mask and suit to show Roodle we care. He’s not dangerous, he likes hugs and is an all-round well-behaved pooch.
Designed by Izy Langhorne, an artist based in Brighton, he was inspired by her love of textiles and surface pattern design, along with her fondness for the Goldendoodle (a fusion of Poodle and Golden Retriever). Roodle’s coat is just like the thick white fur that pet owners so love in Goldendoodles!
He is a welcome addition to the crew at Kusten Vorland. We know he will bring oodles of energy to the office. He has really impressed us with his canine can-do attitude. If nothing else, he will keep the lads in order!
