licensed Asbestos Contract Manager

£36,400 - £46,800 Salary depending on experience, 5.6 weeks holiday, company vehicle, expenses, overnight allowance, and pension.

Kusten Vorland is a dynamic licensed asbestos removal contractor with our Head Office in Cardiff, a five-minute walk from the train station. We are a controlled niche of 25 experts providing asbestos management and removal solutions along the M4 corridor.  We are progressive and look for limit-less talent to add to the creativity and experience of our established team.

We are not looking for your usual Contract Manager. We expect a fully rounded individual, so if you have dabbled in Contracts Management as part of a bigger team- this is not for you.  You see, whilst managing licensed asbestos removal projects you must be able to handle account management and budgeting effortlessly.  Not only can you write a winning quotation, but you can also deliver a successful project. Charismatic enough to handle site supervisors and operatives with ease. You must have the initiative to act commercially, offer legally compliant advice and manage a portfolio of our clients who will rely on your expertise. You will be capable of taking less experienced teammates under your wing. Obviously, there are some prerequisites:

Essential qualifications:

  • ARCA RSPH Level 4 Contracts Manager.

  • ARCA RPE inspection certificate.

  • ARCA POW and risk assessment.

  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Level 6 or 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management or equivalent. 

  • PASMA Towers for Managers certificate.

  • IPAF MEWPs for Managers certificate.

Criteria:

  • Proven track record in pricing and winning work.

  • Competent in delivering and managing licensed asbestos removal projects UK-wide.

  • Able to carry out audits using the ARCA app or competent at audits equivalent to Contract Manager standard.

  • Capable of interpreting audit results to make improvements where necessary within the company.

  • Must be experienced in liaising with senior management and authorities including HSE inspectors.

  • Must take pride in their work and appearance and have confidence in their approach. A confident team leader.

  • Exceptional delivery, able to plan and manage jobs so they complete on time and within budget.

  • Capable of creating immaculately presented workspaces, both work stores and client sites.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Absolutely computer literate.

  • Good working knowledge of asbestos legislation and removal techniques.

  • Must be confident in negotiating with suppliers.

  • Must have excellent organisational ability. 

  • Immaculate paperwork, able to write reports, detailed cost proposals and site-specific method statements and risk assessments.

  • Confident in taking responsibility and accountability for Health & Safety on site.

  • Must be highly flexible and self-motivated, able to work from your own initiative.

You will usually be based across South Wales, Bristol and Wiltshire- sometimes further afield. So occasional travel and overnight stays are required.
